Drawings of Things

And a few paintings

I am not a master artist; I just like drawing. Throughout grade school, I loved drawing. When other kids wanted to finger-paint, I wanted to paint fingers. I had an excessive number of disembodied hand drawings in the margins of my notebooks.

I don’t have any artists who specifically inspired my artwork. However, I do love works by artists like Edward Gorey, Yoshitaka Amano, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Maxfield Parrish.

I’d consider my style a cross between “I really want to draw realistic stuff” and “fuck it, this will have do”. My favorite ways to draw include:

  1. Pencil
  2. Pencil + blending marker
  3. Pencil + blending marker + ink
  4. Pencil + watercolor + gouache

So, lots of pencil, I’d say. But I also love digital painting because it’s easy to correct, edit, and change entire scenes when inspiration strikes.
